Effective Date June 7, 2020

As a provider, Young America Insurance is regulated by state and federal laws protecting the security and confidentiality of your information. So, your security and privacy are of the utmost priority, and we strive to protect them.

Your Privacy is a Priority

Your privacy is important to us, and we make the best effort to protect it. Our Privacy Policy is designed so that you understand how we collect, use, and safeguard the personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide to us and assist you in making informed decisions when using our website and our products and services.

We have one of the most stringent privacy policies of any insurer. Furthermore, we constantly review our policy measures and, as needed, make adjustments that consistently put the customer first, with a commitment to privacy. If you have any questions about our privacy policy and want a further explanation, feel free to contact us via email, or you can use the CONTACT US page on this site.

Information That We Collect

We collect two categories of information from you. The first type is personal information that you actively choose to disclose (“Active Information”), and the second type is anonymous aggregate information collected in a manner not visible to you and others visiting our Site (“Passive Information”). This information Young America Insurance gathers is to provide the most accurate insurance quotes possible.

Active Information

In order to establish a verifiable user account, we require you to disclose the following information: Your name, address, email address, and vehicle type. You must also be a U.S. resident and over 18 years of age. In providing Active Information, you consent and agree that you may be contacted with information related to your inquiry or regarding our or third parties products and services.

Additionally, you agree that by submitting your active information, you are making a purchase, an inquiry, and or an application for purposes of the Telemarketing Sales Rule, 16 CFR 310, and state and federal law. Notwithstanding that your telephone number may be listed on the Federal Trade Commission’s or a state Do-Not-Call List, we retain the right to contact you via telemarketing following state and federal law. Contact the FTC for more specific guidelines for further information on federal laws pertaining to telemarketing and the use thereof.

Passive Information

We collect passive information related to your activity on our Site. Whether or not you have a user account with FLI, we record information relating to your use of FLI. This includes the frequency and size of data transfers, the information you display about yourself, the information you click on, your browser type, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, and timestamp information. If you are logged in, we may associate this information with your User account. We use this type of information to administer the Site and provide the highest possible level of service to you.

As stated previously, these guidelines and policies provide more precise insurance quotes and other requested information. We also use this information in the aggregate to perform statistical analyses of a user’s behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Site. You cannot be identified from this aggregate information.

California Residents

California residents have the right to receive:

  • Information identifying any third-party companies to whom we may have disclosed, within the past calendar year, personal information specific to you and your family for the company’s direct marketing purposes
  • A description of the categories of personal information disclosed

To obtain such information, you must request it in writing. Your request must include your name, email address, and return address, or it will not be processed. We will not honor such requests more than once per calendar year.

We will not disclose any medical information relating to you for marketing purposes without obtaining your prior consent. It may be necessary for us within 30 days of your written request for access to provide you with, among other things, a summary of procedures through which you can request correction, amendment, or deletion of your personal health information.

If you have any questions about privacy within your state, please feel free to contact us.

Use of Cookies

We use cookies to store users’ preferences and record session information, ensuring users are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and customizing newsletter, advertising, and webpage content based on browser type and user profile information. Users are given a choice to opt-out of “Cookies” and not have specific information stored in such manner as outlined.

How Do We Use the Information Collected?

In general, persons we employ directly or as contractors or agents at our direction use Active Information to administer our business activities, provide customer services such as support, and distribute information about products and services you have requested. We may use the active information or passive information you provide to us to contact you about changes to our website, new services, features or products we offer, or other information we think you may find valuable.

If you do not wish to receive such information at any time, you may “opt-out” to unsubscribe.

Passive Information may result in your viewing of particular advertising based on your user habits for your viewing on our Site.

Who Do We Share Your Information With?

We only share information with trusted third-party partners. Information gathered can be, as stated in the privacy agreement, shared with specific partners. These partnerships enable consumers to receive more detailed quotes from more insurance providers. As stated in our privacy policy, partners can change at any time, and information collected may change upon notice.

Third-Party Advertising

Advertisements that appear on Young America Insurance are sometimes delivered (or “served”) directly to users by third-party advertisers and other trusted partners. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third-party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer or use other technologies such as JavaScript and “web beacons” to measure their ads’ effectiveness and personalize advertising content.

Doing this allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement to measure the effectiveness of their ads and personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked.

We do not have access to or control of the cookies that third-party advertisers may place. Third-party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on our site unless you choose to share it with them. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Young America Insurance and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its advertisers.
